Liver Dysfunction in Hyperemesis Gravidarum

Aim: To determine the frequency of liver dysfunction in patients with hyperemesis gravidarum. Study design: It was a retrospective cross sectional study. Place and duration: This study done gastroenterology department Timergara Teaching Hospital over period 1 year i.e., from September 2021 to August 2022. Methods: 140 pregnant women admitted diagnosis gravidarum were included this after excluding disease. Data collected case files medical records. SPSS version 25 used analyze data. Results: Liver seen 55.2% The mean age found be 24.4±5.35 years most cases primigravida 72.8%. Mean gestational 9.2± 1.9 weeks. No significant difference relation BMI. Conclusion: Abnormal function tests is common finding which recover completely when resolution occurs needs no treatment. Key words: Hyperemesis gravidarum, nausea vomiting pregnancy, dysfunction, tests. ALT, AST.
